What's in a name?

Some of you may be wondering how we came up with the name Victoria Ann Brugger...
Well, Michael and I went through a list of over 800 names from the Social Security website of the most popular names for 2005.

After 2 hours of knocking off names, we came up with a list of around 20 or so, then down to the ones each of us liked. Michael created a spread sheet and created a formula to figure out how popular the names would be this year into next, after that we called the president to get his opinion, he then waited for an answer from congress to come through.

So after all that we came up with the name Victoria Ann. We wanted something that would be powerful and something that she could grow with. Like Vikki to Victoria. Though for the moment I have taken to calling her little one or peanut, but I know that all parents have nicknames for their kids. For instance, my mom calls me Boo, whereas my uncle calls me poopers...and NO I will not tell you why, I am sure you can figure that out for yourself.

Anyway, that's how Victoria got her name.

Things that go thump in the belly

I may have had to guess in the past on the thumps that I was feeling, well, that time has past.
Victoria has now become my time clock. She kicks first thing in the morning to get me up for breakfast, then again for lunch, then last thing at night before bed.

It's rather amusing to laydown and watch your belly bounce with each kick. Michael has taken to talking to her at night, that seems to calm her down a little faster, I have a feeling she will be daddy's little girl. He's doomed.

As holloween is rapidly approaching, Michael and I are discussing what we are going to be. He will be his normal scary self, while I only have one choice. Ragedy Ann, yes that little doll in the dress with the red hair and the white hat. This is my only option as i won't buy another costume, so this is the only one that i can fit at this stage of the pregnancy. Though the other option we came up with is painting my belly into a pumpkin and wearing a belly shirt for the day to show it off. I may still do that, I just won't leave the house that day! ha ha ha

I look forward to holloween next year, Victoria will be here to join us...oh the outfits we can put her in!

The answer to the BIG question

Is Jr a boy or a girl. Well, before I answer that let me tell you that everything is fine. Jr weighed in at 11 oz. All of the bones measured as they should along with the heart. Though jr had some fun with the tech. She wanted to take some pictures of jr's hand and jr refused to move the hand...even after being jiggled.

Now, since you are all waiting very patiently to know what jr really is...
the answer is:

Jr is a girl, yes folks, Michael and I are having a girl and we are very happy. After a vry long list of names, say around 800 or so, we have decided to name her Victoria. We are looking forward to welcoming Victoria into the world sometime early next year.

Results part one

Just wanted to let all of you know that we got the results back from the downs syndrom test. Jr is just fine.

I did find out something interesting while we were in Vegas and California. Jr likes chinese food. I had it for dinner then for a very early lunch the next day and have been craving it ever since, who knew.

Jr also seems to like Cirque and chocolate covered strawberries...a kid after my own heart.

Wish I had more to tell all of you, but that's it. There are no aches and pains to mention, though I will spare you some of the gross things going on, I am sure none of you want to know about them, heck, even I don't want to know.

next time I post will be to announce the answer to the big question " What are you having? a boy or a girl?" We will also find out if i am right that jr is a boy.

Waiting and waiting and waiting...

I went to the Dr's office this morning for the Downs Syndrom test, we will get the results back on Monday, unfortunatlly we will be in Vegas when the results are in. As for what Jr actually is will remain a mystery for another 2 weeks. I wanted to get in for the level 2 ultra sound by the end of the week, but the office that I have to go to is packed full. They are taking people starting next week, we of course won't be here.

So wait we must. And I thought getting the results for a positive pregnancy test where hard. This is tourture.

Jr's room is all ready for him or her. The room has been painted, the crib is put together, though there is no bed or sheets or bumper, but hey, it's there. I added clouds and animals to the walls of the nursery. Looks good, simple, but it can grow with Jr.

As for me, I am getting bigger by the day, which is fine. a few of my normal shirts are getting a good stretch as the belly grows. I have done very well witht he weight gain. I have not given into most of the cravings I've gotten. Though today I had to break down and by some chocolate chip cookie dough. I have been craving that for 6 days now... I had to give in. I was starting to dream about cookie dough dancing down the stairs, something had to give.

Many of you can understand when I say I can't wait to meet this kid face to face, but I am in no hurry. I love being pregnant, so far. I can deal with the indigestion and the food cravings. I love to watch the belly grow, but I am oh so ready to meet this child and welcome him or her into the world. Catch 22.

Almost sad to know that in 3 weeks we will be half way through the pregnancy. We are going to take a tour of the local hospital sometime in October or November. That is something that I am looking forward to...do women in the delivery room really scream that loud and can you really hear them in the next room? Yes, these are things that I want to know. That way I know to bring ear plugs. ha ha ha Just kidding.

Anyway, the next time we post I will be able to tell you what Jr's actual name is. Can't wait.
