Time to let you all in on the secret...and NO, Victoria has not been born yet.
We have decided, with Dr. Pliskow's permission, we are going to induce on January 26th (friday). The reason behind this is to get the gallbaldder out faster so that I can be me again...and eat everything in sight.
Dr. Pliskow will give us te green light in the next few days to weeks on being induced...needless to say we are ready and waiting for the green light...but scared *&^%less. There is just something about being responsible for a whole nother person and having to push it out of you...isn't there an easier way to this birth thing? I mean, come on, we can send people to the moon, but not make birth easy and fun???
No, really, we are looking forward to meeting this kid. It will be nice to be able to back away when she kicks instead of backing away while she is still on the inside...kind of pointless, but funny to watch.
I am hoping that she keeps the same sleep schedule she has now. When mommy goes to bed, she fusses for a few minutes, then settles in for the night. She is up during the day, usually under the ribs for enjoyment (hers, not mine)and moving around from one side to the other. I do wish that I had an ultrasound machine so that i knew what body part was what, so far it's all guesses.
There are many days when I still can't believe that by St. Patrick's day there wil be 3 of us...and that goes for Easter and Mother's day and Father's day and all the other great holidays coming up. Oh what joy there is to be had.
Ok, so the stork just delivered some more goodies. Coupons. I never knew how many coupons there were to be had. I mean, we have them for cloths, cribs, diapers, wipes, shoes, college (just kidding) and we get lots of them including samples galore. The only problem we have is keeping track of everything...like where did I put them. I mean, I have a hard time finding my keys everyday and I put them in the same spot, now you are asking me to find coupons I got in the mail last week, that's asking a lot of me, especially now. Thankgoodness for Michael. He walks behind me and takes notes on where I put things, that way at least one of us has a clue as to where things are when the time comes.
Anyway, I will keep you all posted after each Dr. visit as to what may or may not be going on...keep your fingers!

One down, two to go
Yesterday (12-18-06) around 4:30pm I passed my kidney stone. I couldn't beleive the size of this thing. I look at it and wonder how any human could not only grow something like that, but pass it as well. When t did pass, my first thought was something went worng with Victoria...it was that powerful. Then I looked down and saw the rock i had been carrying around inside. Good grief.
So here is the rest of the update. Last wednesday I went into the hospital, again. THis time because I have not been able to hold anything down, including liquid. So after Dr. Pliskow ran a few tests, he discovered that there are some bad things going on in my gallbladder that was making me sick. I spent 3 days in the hospital hooked up to an iv and the fetal moniter. I was also poked in both arms, both hands and one wrist, needless to say I am very glad to be home. Once beanie is born, my gallbaldder will have to come out. So here's the schedule for next year: Baby, kidneys, and gallbladder. I will know this hospital inside and out by the time i am all done.
While I was in, I got to take another sneak peak at Victoria. She is a very good baby. She is practicing breathing...and doing it very well, she was also head down and ready to come out, which would explaine why my ribs have become the place for her to stretch into. If you are wondering, nothing going on with me is affecting her. Victoria is in her own little protected world and quite happy. She has been moving around a lot, I am still waiting for the day when i look down and see body parts sticking out. Mostly you just see small bumps moving, but nothing that you can tell what body part it is.
Still can't believe my kidney stone is finally out....wow!

Baby on board-literally
Jenna Meaker posted "This is what life is all about, this is happiness. Now I know."
There is one thing that comes to mind with this and it comes from a song:
" we stand in aw, we created life". I look down all the time to watch my belly bounce and wiggle and move and I still can't believe that there are only 68 more days to go before i meet this new bundle of joy face to face.
It all seems so unreal. There are a lot of things yet to be done, like diapers, pack for the hospital, buy a car seat, some of these things can wait, like the diapers, but still. I am a very impatient person, I want everything to be done yesterday, the only thing that I can't rush is this baby. I have been reading many many books and most of them tell me that it is normal to be scared and confused. Confused I can do, I am usually in a state of confusion, that's nothing new, but the scared thing...I can't do. i don't like Halloween for this very reason. It's hard to imagine that in a few short weeks (weeks, did someone say weeks...uh...time out, I'm not ready)I will be responsible for someone else. Ok, sure I've had some practice, I do have a cat a dog and a husband, but still.
I am ready for this kid and anything she can throw at me...or throw UP at me. I look at the clothes she now has and I am amazed that something that BIG could be growing inside. Then again, I am amazed that I don't fall over half the time (the other half of the time I understand why I fall over all the time...I'm clumsy). I am ready for the war of the body to be over...then again...does she really have to come out, I mean, the pain, the pushing, the no eating until she does come out...not even a cheeseburger, come on now people. Women in labor should have anything they want. But alas, to be able to sleep again without water, tums, going pee every 2 hours and only being able to sleep on one side...this I am ready for...FREEDOM.
Now I understand...the happiness, the joy and the sensation of being kicked in the butt from the inside...ah parenthood, what a wonderful thing.
So as Christmas aproaches, I applaud the women who have gone through this and lived to tell about it. You are amazing people...especially if you have done this more than once...you deserve the nobel peace prize.
If you are still reading, please forgive the babeling...sleep deprivation tends to do that to you. Now I know why so many women fall asleep for short time periods during labor...the drugs and the need for sleep, did I mention the drugs?
and the countdown continues....

Small Miracles for Mommy
As I have mentioned many times before, I am fighting a kidney stone that won't go away. In the process, it has made me naucious every day all day. I gave in and called my OB to see if there was anything they could do for me. And there is...a small magic white pill. It takes away that awful sick feeling, almost instantly. I feel human again, well, except for the peeing and the indigestion.
The side affects include...headaches, itchy skin, and peeing...so how will I tell if I have any of the side affects? I already have all those. Ha ha ha
One of the other miracles that I received came from a good friend and fellow new mom, Danielle. She gave me a kit called Mama Mio (I recommend this to all new mothers, the ob should hand these out the day you find out you are pregnant). THis kit includes: Belly oil rub, boob tube, lotion, and body wash and to top it all off, a great smelling candle to help you relaxe. I don't know what I would have done without any of these creams. You put the belly oil on...and the belly no longer itches, smae with the boops. Oh what a relief that is. Do you have any idea how embarassing it can be to be in ublic and constantly rubbing either your boops(though I have gotten some offers of help int at area) or your tummy? People think you are diseased or you just like to feel yourself up all the time...either way they avoid you.
I have also found a use for my boppy, I can sleep on my tummy with it. Oh how nice that was when I disovered I could do that. I have never been so happy to lay down in my whole life.
79 days and counting...
