Changes

So much is changing here that i can't keep up. I have once again joined the working force. i work in a Barnes and Noble (which turns out to be the best place for me) and both kids are now in pre-school.

Logan is potty trained with a few minor accidents along the way, Beanie is fully potty trained and loving her freedom. Both kids are learning to play with others, share their toys and copperate with eachother.

Michael is doing well. Work is going reat for him, though very busy, as always. lots of changes going on.

So now for the fill-ins.
i got my job because on my nook. (www.bn.com/nook) and the boy. We were at a free concert one night when he got antsy so i took him tot he local BN to play with the train. I had a question about the nook and I guess I not only impressed the GM of the store, but I also envouraged another customer to buy a nook that night. After i was done talking with the GM he offered me a job. I was hired the next day and I passed the background check with flying colors.

To say that i love my job would be an understatement. I love going to work, I dont mind staying late or coming in on my days off. I love the people that i get to meet and the people that i work with. I have met people from Australia, Germany, the UK, iceland, Alaska, Switzerland among many other areas around the world. I have even met James Patterson. God i love my job.

The kids are adapting to my ever changing schedule. They are troopers about going to bed and getting up in the morning and heading to school. They are flourishing in school, which is awsome. Both kids have done amazingly well. Logan is talking way more now than he ever has and Beanie is learning to tell us what she wants without yelling or throwing a fit. She is also doing way better at getting herself ready for bed at night. What a trooper they have both become.

I couldn't ask for a better family. Michael has stepped up to be the husband that I need him to be. He's become super dad. he does the laundry, the dishes, trash and many other things. I love him for that. he stepped up and filled in the gaps while I'm at work. What a team we make!

poop

not a title i thought i'd be writing soon, but here it is.
Beanie went poopies on the potty for the first time today all by herself. usually only daddy could get her to go, but he's away on business...so it was up to her and she pulled it off!

what a happy child she is now...and a few pounds lighter...not to mention!

i am so proud of her that i sang and danced around the house for 20min or so. She thought i was nuts, but enjoyed the praise...scooter plugged his ears, guess i shouldn't quit my day job!

hot

it maybe hot, but i still went running/walking tonight. took a cold shower and still sweating. it feels good to move. went around the neighborhood and up to the next one. even took beanie with me in the bike trailer/running stroller. she enjoyed the time and the cool breeze on her face.

I'd take the dog, but she poops out too early.
and you doubted me. HA!

run sandy run!

tonight for the first time in many years, I ran. i bought new sneakers for the event.
I got Michael to take the kids home from dinner, i grabed the dog and hit the pavement. can I just say that it felt good. good beyond words. i have been feeling the need to run for a few weeks now. I dont run, I hate running, but I guess this is what my body needed. I guess sitting on the couch or just being in the house all day has taken its toll.
I took our dog, Sandy, with me. She was happy to go out, just not happy that it was a faster walk than she ever gets. she was tired by the time i got back...i felt...light. i'm not sure I have the right words to tell you how it felt, maybe relieved? at peace? it was just nice.
I am hoping to try to do this 3 nights a week. mon, wed and fri with the weekends off. I think the dog may even come to like this event. gets her out of the house and lets her run off some energy. my time...ahh. I really couldn't think of a better way to spend 20min alone. just me, the dog and the pavement.

laundry

I got one sick kid and one awsome kid.
Scooter and I went to walkmart today to get some food, just as we were ready to check out, the computers fail. So we stood in line for 30 minutes. The boy was AWSOME beyond imagination.he ate his goldfish and just hung out. it was fabulous. i have never been so impressed with my boy.

Now, the laundry part. I got scooters laundry all done and put away. Beanie gets home, I get her stuff in the wash, then she throws up, after I tried to give her some meds to bring her fever down...that was rough. She got her favorite blanket, thank goodness her laundry had just been started.
i hate having a sick kid. It makes me feel awful that there's nothing I can do for her. even the meds have no affect...that is where we're not panicking from a recall. god I hate those. and it always happens just after we've given whatever has been recalled to the kids. stupid drug people, cant they get this crap right BEFORE they send it out.

day with the kids

We got up at just before 8am...rough for me, I dont wake up until atleast noon. \had breakfast, then played and watched Thomas for the 400th time...yeah, it's getting very old, but the kids love it and it gives me soome time to get things done.
Then we headed out for tumble tots, it's beanies last class until july.
She did awsome and we had a special guest, Jim came to watch which thrilled her to no end.
went home, had lunch, took naps (i got to read some more of my book on my awsome will beat you stupid if you try to take it away nook. very awsome naptime!

Then we played and danced and laughed for most of the afternoon. I even got to do some cleaning. my floors are clean, the dishes are done, our laundry is almost done...then we went swiming. best part of the day. i love watching them swim. it's the most awr inspiring thing. scooter has no fear...at.all.
Then we all climbed into our bed and watched , you guessed it Thomas...all.over.again. yay.(insert sarcastic voice here). while they watched, i put some laundry away. bed time...right out...SWEET.
today is a great day to be me...to be mom! thankyou kids for makeing this such a great day!

To my Children

Will you remember the night that we both snuggles into bed with you because the thunderstorm was loud?
Will you remember laughing and tumbling on beanie's bed for hours?
how about the time we put jim's tent up in the front area and took our nap in it?
What about all the plants we planted?
The time both of yo learned to swim? how excited you both were when you realized you could get around the pool without us. though you still liked to jump with us to make big waves!

i wish you could remember all the small things, all the people. It makes me sad to know that the only way you will know this people are the memories of everyone around you. So be prepared for the stories, lots and lots of stories (and ps, dont believe everything you hear!)

As life is passing by, I want both of you to know that we love you and have always wanted both of you. you make us proud to be your parents. to watch you grow (though sometimes too fast) and learn and explore the world around you. The first time beanie put a puzzle together by herself, watching scooter figure out how to put the wooden train tracks together.

So many things that I wish you could remember, guess that means I have to take more pictures!

point shoes

I want to learn how to dance on my toes...point shoes. With beanie in dance class, it makes me want to do it even more. I want to learn so bad I can taste it. I know it ruins your feet, but the drive is there along with the determination.
I have thought about it over the years, to be able to move on my toes, spins, first position, grand plia, i want to learn.

I know that if i could find someone to teach me that I wouldnt do it for very long, but to say that i could and or can...that is my dream...my hope my deepest desire in life. this is for me and me alone. i want to show beanie that no matter how old you are, you can still be what you want to be.

this is my dream. someday i hope to fullfill it. am i too late? what's your dream?

I have 3 amazing rose bushes with 2 beautiful pots brimming with wonderful little flowers. I even have real flowers to put on our table at night or during the day...even a small rose bush. Oh the joys of gardening. more pics are in the picasa folder

Scooter turns 2

I know it's been almost a week, but the boy did, infact, turn 2.
He turned 2 on Easter. So he got a great birthday start. I started the tradition that my mom has with me, i woke him up at 6:45am because that's when he was born...not to mention he had to get up so that we could have breakfast with the Easter bunny at the Zoo. so it all worked out.

I still look at him and I can't imagine that he was ever 4lbs and 4oz. It's hard to imagine that he was small enough that even most premie clothes were too big on him. Did you know that he spent 4 weeks in NICU?
looking at him today you'd never know.

His vocabulary is through the roof. He has more words than beanie does...most days and he's smart. For me, scary smart. Yesterday in the car he said that he loved me, then he said something about an airplane...guess he got distracted.
He is still in the 25th percentile for height and weight, but he's growing at a steady rate. We even started him on big boy pants. How time seems to fly.
Scooters birthday came and went without a whole lot of fan fare. We sang happy birthday to him and gave hima blue cupcake, which he was covered in by the end of the night.

I can't beleive how lucky we are to have not one, but 2 great kids. He's helpful, polite, frienddly, cute as a button and very loveable, but watch out for the mean side of him. There's a reason we call him the destroyer.
He makes me proud to be his mom everyday and every day I love him more than the day before. I wonder what each day will bring and I look forward to the snuggles, love and books that we get to shre right before bed.

We love you little boy. We are glad you're here. you are loved and wanted everyday, don't ever forget that.

missing friends and family

So with Easter come and gone, I got a few cards in the mail from both friends and family.

One was touching (mitch), one was homemade(Anne) and a (more than a)few made me miss family and friends. Sometimes i forget how much I miss family and friends until I hear from them with a card in the mail or an e-mail just to say hello. I know that life gets in the way, it goes that way for all of us.

Anyway, I miss everyone. There are days when I wish that I could bundle all my friends and family and keep them around..instead of all of us spreading out. though it is amazing to see where each of us as gone. We have family in 8 states. WOW!
So i may not respond to you quickly, but please now that your e-mail or letter or text message has made my day...probably my whole week. So thank you for caring and taking the time to say hello or happy holidays and for all the wonderful things that each of you has done for both myself, mike and the kids. I hope someday they grow up and become just as thoughtful as all of you.

sad day

Thursday was Logan's last day with his teacher, Ms. Viki. Not because we are pulling himoput, but because he is turning 2 on Sunday.
That means that he moves from the 1 year olde to to the 2 year old room. I'd like to say that i look forward to him moving up, but i too, have become attached to Ms. Viki.
We said goodbye on thursday (they are closed today because of good friday) and exchanged e-mail addresses. I know that Logan has not figured out that he is moving teachers, but he will on Monday when he goes in and is brought into Ms.Kelly's class.
It's a whole new world for him.

I have been told that he is one smart little boy. i can have a conversation with him and understand what he tells me. Things like..I want to get out, i went poopy, i'm hungrey when's food? things like that. it's kind of scary and all at the same time awsome.

I look forward to all that he will learn, but at the same time I will miss seeing Ms. Viki every day. She has done an amazing job with not only scooter, but with all the kids in her class. If only she'd move up with him...then life would be better!

oh what fun

first logan got sick. they called me on friday to coem and get him. it was gonna be my day off. beanie went in that day. I came home around 10am with the boy. he went in on Monday and sis alright, tuesday he came home early and spent the rest of the week with me.
now..i have a sore throat, stuff nose and a cough and now to top it all off...beanie is getting sick. she looks awful. no color in her face and a cough with a runny nose. she has even started waking up in the middle of the night like scooter was doing. gosh I hope she recovers faster than he did. it took him almost a week to recover. i'm not sure I can handle another week with a sick child. especially with me not up to full speed. sometimes being a mom is no fun. i wish we had sick days and vacation days just like the rest of the "working" world does. that would be nice.
in the mean time I get to enjoy lots of snuggles from both kids. I hate when they're sick, but I sure do enjoy the time I get with them.

thank you super nanny

This simply states: Do NOT CROSS in red. I am trying to stop the kids from coming into the kitchen while I am cooking or cleaning. Too many time si have triped over someone with something hot in my hands. I am also hoping to stop Scooter from getting into my spices. I know he likes the noise they make...but I cant deal with the mess that they make.

Here's hoping this works!

thump...

so we put the kids tp bed friday night and hear beanie say "tell logan to go back in his room"
what the )(*& ?
So i send michael in to see what's going on and sure enough...scooter has climbed out of his bed and roamed into beanies room. So we try it again to see if he gets out again. I'm thinking that maybe i left the side down or something to let him out. Nope...5 minutes later he gets out.
So the next day we try it again for nap. Nope. over the side he goes. So I have taken down the slidding side of his crib and put up the todddler sides so he can come and go as he wants. We have a new gate at his door and into his closet to keep him from playing when he should be napping.
He...fell out of bed twice last night. i found him at one point laying on the floor butt in the air and crying, but alright.

So thus another chapter of his life is closed and another one opens. Slowly he's growing up...though he will always be my little boy.

busted

not what you're thinking. I was busted for not posting about the wii workout from EAsports. (thanks Uncle..someone needed to bust me otherwise i may never go back) Sad, but true. it was going great. I was working out just fine, until family came into town, then i got a little distracted.
then I stopped. upside, my leggs look great...downside, the rest of me is in need of help. Michael renewed my urge to get fit after telling me I can make my own workout and just do my upper body. Guess that means no more flabby arms that wave back at people. what a thought. though I would think that carrying 2 kids around would have solved that problem, guess not.
So I will try it again. sad to say, but I was only 1 week away from finishing the 30 day workout...very sad indeed.
and just incase you're wondering...i didnt lose any weight, but gained some, but i've been told that muscle weighs more than fat...so i guess that makes sense.

in the mean time, we bought bikes. we biked yesterday for over an hour. I had the kids in a kid trailer. they seemed to like it. I'm looking forward to taking her to tumble tots on wednesdays with the bike...not to mention the 45 min. i will have all to myself to plot out th erest of the day/week. or just to sit and read, I miss my books and I have so many great ones yet to read. yay wednesdays!

Happy Birthday

At 11:56am Sunday January 7, 2007 Victoria was born. We waited anxiously to hear her cry and she didn't disappoint us. I kissed her forhead and welcomed her into the world, then said goodbye as she was whisked off to NICU for her day and a half stay.

As I kiss her forhead tonight, I look back at all she has done and all she means to us. Every morning I am greeted with a blanket to the side of the bed and a soft "good morning mommy" as she climbs into bed with me. During the day I get to watch her grow. She dances like no one's watching, she laughs at everything (even when it's one of my bad jokes). She makes my heart happy and proud with everything she does. From sharing her toys with another child, helping me clean the house, walking the dog, saying hello to everyone she meets and on rare occassions being nice to her younger brother. Even her mad skills at playing candy land amaze me (and I'm not just saying that cause she beat me twice)
She melted my heart the day she was born and everyday she makes me proud. Little girl I am proud of you, of who you are and who you are becoming. We love you Victoria, Happy 3rd birthday.

Happy Birthday as well To Jeffrey (http://phonemom.wordpress.com) and Morgan (http://myrambles.wordpress.com) who celebrated thier 4th birthday. No, that isn't a typo, they really are turning 4. I know, non of us look old enough to have kids this old, what can I say! We are awsome parents with some kick ass kids!

30 challenge

Welcome to 2010. So eahc year I tell myself that I am going to lose weight. We all seem to do this. Well, this year I am putting my best foot forward. For Christmas I got the EAsports workout for the WII.

Today is day 1 of the 30 day challenge. Yeah, that's what I said. 30 days? are you insaine? I can;t do anything for 30 days. Including something that will kick my butt all the way around.
So, here's how it's gonna go (and no, I don;t mean out the door when it tells me to pick it up a notch as I'm sweating and trying to keep up with a computer who needs an attitude adjustment) I'll do the workouts and every friday I'll let you know how it's going. So here's some starting information.
I weigh (and don't you dare laugh I worked hard to get to this weight) 140
I'm 5"4' yes, that's short. I know, i get it. someday (sooner than I think) my kids will be looking down on me...and that's ok.
Today I burned 65 calories. and now I'm ready for a drink and a ew dozen cookies and a nap. My legs hurt and I walk funny (though I've always walked funny so I'm not sure what the difference is)
So every week I'll tell you the calories and how much I weigh. yeah...brave I know. this will only backfire if I don't lose any weight...guess that means no more junk food...yeah, like that'll happen any time soon!

So...happy butt kicking new year to me!
