ups and downs
I thought being a mom would be great...and it is. It is the best non-paying job that i could have. I get to spend the whole day playing with the kids, watching them grow and learn and see the world through thier eyes.
The downside...sickness. Last night beanie was up coughing. All I hear is "mommy....mommy" cough cough cough. It was awful. I hgave her everything I could to help her sleep better. I gave her vics, mucinexs, I even turned on the humidifier and gave her water. She was still up coughing until 1:15am. That's tough. All she wanted was to snuggle me and make the cough go away. She finally went to sleep and slept through the night. If I were Superman...the kids being sick would be my krypyonite.

Disagreement
There has been a very serious disagreement goin gon in our house every morning. When this debate started out...it was funny, now...not so funny and it's getting worse. There is no escape....
For Victoria that is. She has been having a fight with her diaper every morning. If we don't get to her fast enough, the diaper is off and the poop is in her hand. YUCK, to say the least.
She has reached the point that no diaper is fun and watching mom and dad run after me BEFORE i pee on the floor is very amuzing. This...not so fun. I thought that by putting pants or a pull-up on her, she would be unable to get the siaper off, boy was I wrong about that one. I do feel bad...to some degree as she got her favorite blanket "dirty" and it now needs to be washed and that's all she wanted this morning whe she got up was her blanket...sorry kid...keep the poopies int he diaper and that blanket will stay clean for you to play with.
The boy...well, he still only has 2 teeth and none are expecting. Boith kids are healthy and growing at a "normal" rate per our pediatrician. Logan missed a few milestones...like trying to pull himself up, but I was told that because he came early, that's normal and he will catch up at some point. At the moment, he seems more intersted in walking than crawling. As long as he upright...life is good. and no, he's still not sleeping all the way though the night...close. just not there yet.
Ona side note...Twilight series? anyone with me on this one? come on if you are it's alright, you're not alone. I love the series. I am on book 4 and going through it with aw and jealousy...not for the charecters, but for the island. If you at this point, you understand. and the cars. oh the cars. Hey, I can dream can't i?

Beanie turns the big 2!
.jpg)
.jpg)
Today we officially celebrated beanie's second birthday today. It was great. Lots of people, lots of great food (i'm biased...i baked and cooked!)
The butterfly cake was never touched. The other one...devoured. Love it. We sang happy birthday to her...to which she smiled and I think blushed, but I can't be sure!
All the kids had a great time. We even got the blow up bounce house going for some of the older kids to bounce around in. When everyone took off, we had a few friends stay behind and play some wii. Even Victoria tried her hand at playing tennis, though we were smart enough not to give her a controler as she liked to hit people with her pretend one.
I can't wait to do this again when Logan turns 1, but then he is no longer and infant, but a baby, then on to a toddler. Gosh...I'm not ready for that. I was hoping one of them would stay a baby...atleast for a short time longer.

The Great Birthday Simul-Post, 2009
Victoria
Once again we gather together to celebrate 3 wonderful and amazing kids as they celebrate their birthdays.
Jeffrey and Morgan are both celebrating, dare I say it, their 3rd bithdays and Victoria is celebrating, gulp, her 2nd birthday. (are we old enough to have kids this old?)
Another year has gone by and so much has changed. Victoria is now a walking, talking and signing 2 year old. Her favorite song? Jungle Bells. Over and over and over again. She is more outgoing than I could have ever hoped for. She has learned so much over the past 12 months. She can go to the potty (with help), drink from a cup (a real one, not a sippy cup), go up and down the stairs all by herself, put her shoes on and take them off (anytime she’s not moving) and she’s talking, to everyone and everything…even her own reflection.
I look back at the day she was born and I’m in aw at how far she’s come and all she can do. I love looking at the world through her eyes, with wonder and amazement. She boldly goes where I won’t even consider going (like the boys bathroom in public places or Logan’s diaper pal)
A few things she’s learned: jingle bells, cheese, stocks are down, roth IRA, merry christmas, Hi brother, Hi Logan, hi grandpa, I noni, hi nana, sell sell sell, no mine, milk, up, cup, lying down on the ground at the most inopportune times, looking to see if we are paying attention when she cries so she knows to try harder and the biggest; sleeping in a her big girl bed, playing quietly in her room and sitting on the potty.
I don’t know what this year will hold, but I can’t wait to see what she learns and to watch her grow into a wonderful person.
Happy second birthday Beanie, We love you and we are very proud of you.

January 7th is a memorable date. In 1927, transatlantic phone service began, which led to the invitable call on Jan 8th, 1927, “What are you wearing?” 110 years ago, Fannie Farmer published her culinary tome, “The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book” and introduced the world to precision cooking measurements. In 2006, the world changed for Danielle and I forever…
As we were a year ago, today we’re joined by special guest poster Jen from Babybrugger so that we can reflect on what January 7th means to us. Also check out Phonemom’s post.
Jeffrey
Let’s look at where we are now, and what’s transpired since 1/7/2008.
He’s 8 pounds heavier.
We’ve found it impossible to steer clear of Thomas the Tank Engine for a boy who loves trains.
He still has no butt or hips and we have to limit our pants purchases to ones with elastic waist bands
We have tried teaching him to spell, though mostly as a rote “trick”. He can recite “STOP”, “JEFFREY”, “MILK”, and “RIT”
Though not technically reading, he’s beginning to recognize words - even in different letter case or even handwriting. His favorite words so far are: car, stop, zoo, Wegman’s, FedEx and Jeffrey.
Physical and occupational therapy have ended successfully, and we really miss Monica and Judy.
Jeffrey continues to tear up the puzzle scene
We graduated to a big boy bed
We’ve been telling Jeffrey for a while now that he’s a big boy now. He can pick out his own clothes and sleep in his own real bed. But it really hit me the other day as I’m carrying him inside after he fell asleep in the car. He really feels like a young boy now, and not a little toddler. From facial expressions to retorts, he becomes more and more sophisticated and complicated. I see myself in him, and I beam with pride and shudder in fear. I see my wife in him and it makes me happy to see him smile whenever he sees her. He really is the light in our life. And while I’m looking forward to that light getting brighter in April, I’m going to take the time that we have left as just the three of us and enjoy it.
Happy Birthday, son. I love you.

Christmas 2008
Christmas this year was great. We had a brown Christmas. In case you're wondering, we wrapped nothing. So whatever Fedex, USPS, and UPS shipped us, that's what our gifts stayed in until Christmas morning.
It was great. This year, everything was Victoria's..atleast she felt that way. She got some great gifts from a purse (that she carried everywhere) to a kitchen to more clothes and socks that she needed badly and a few great movies (wall-e, Grinch...gotta love the classics!) Even Logan got to open a few things except the shape sorter that only we can open...for the moment. He even got a few wooden trains to play with, though he had more pleasure chewing on them than playing with them. Logan got an octopus that plays music and when you press the "feet" tells you what color it is in 3 languages along with 3 wooden trains, clothes, socks, and a book.
Needless to say this was a great Christmas for both the kids and us. I had no idea it would be this much fun to watch the kids play with their new toys Christmas morning!
We even got some great shots of Logan in his santa suite...and boy does this kid look thrilled about it!
All in all Christmas this year was great and I know it will just continue to get better as the years go on. We even had the chance to see family without traveling. Skype is a wonderful things to have. Beanie got to see Grandpa and Nonni and Uncle Matt, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Sam, Lena, Adam, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Tony, Aunt Pam, the Great Grandparents, Aaron (with his snazy pants) Rene, and Gina. It was great, the only things that could have made it even better is had we been there in person. It was very hard to explaine to beanie that she could not crawl into the screen to hug grandpa, nonni, or anyone else for that matter.
Next up...Beanie turns 2. Yeah, I'm not ready for that one, but are you really ever ready for your kids to get older?
